Lila Rose v. Dr. Phil: A Model of How to Engage on Life and a Harbinger of Things to Come

By: Paul Batura

Calmly and confidently. Unashamedly and unapologetically.

Those four words describe Live Action founder Lila Rose’s temperament and tone throughout this past Monday’s spirited exchange with Dr. Phil, along with audience members of his popular television talk show.

Invited on the program to ostensibly debate life in a post-Roe America, the deck was clearly and decidedly stacked against the pro-life stalwart. But no matter. Rose, who started Live Action when she was just fifteen years old, held her ground, challenging the host and enduring insults from the crowd.

“Dr. Phil’s team chose to center the entire show around an extremely tragic case of a mother whose baby had a fetal anomaly that was life threatening,” Rose would later comment. “They made the focus of the episode her story, that she was ‘forced’ to birth the baby instead of abort because of pro-life laws.”

Yes for Life: Support Kentucky’s Pro-Life Constitutional Amendment

By: Jeff Johnston

Kentucky has the opportunity to protect life, keep state funds from paying for abortions, and prevent activist judges from finding a spurious “right” to abortion in the state’s constitution.

Constitutional Amendment #2, dubbed the “Yes for Life Amendment,” is on the ballot November 8. The amendment would add Section 26A to the Constitution of Kentucky:

“To protect human life, nothing in this Constitution shall be construed to secure or protect a right to abortion or require the funding of abortion.”

We spoke with David Walls, executive director of The Family Foundation, a Focus on the Family-allied public policy organization. The group works for policies and legislation that support families and marriages; ensure that life is valued and protected; and safeguard religious freedom in the Commonwealth of Kentucky.

Walls told us:

“The amendment protects Kentucky’s more than 140+ years of pro-life history and the Commonwealth’s pro-life laws that are currently under attack from the multi-billion-dollar abortion industry and an activist Louisville judge.”

As we reported in the Daily Citizen, Jefferson Circuit Court Judge Mitch Perry blocked the state’s abortion trigger law and heartbeat abortion ban from taking effect.

How to Defeat Gender Ideology, Protect Children and End ‘Trans America’

By: Zachary Mettler

Note: This is Part One of a two-part series highlighting the “Trans America” panel at the third annual National Conservativism Conference.

Scores of attendees to the National Conservativism Conference in Miami, Florida, gathered recently to hear four experts speak on a panel titled “Trans America.”

What followed served as a wakeup call to Americans of all stripes, from both political parties, on how “gender ideology” has already irreversibly harmed thousands of children nationwide and will harm hundreds of thousands more if it isn’t stopped. If we don’t stop it.

First to speak was Jay W. Richards, director of the Richard and Helen DeVos Center for Life, Religion, and Family and William E. Simon Senior Research Fellow at The Heritage Foundation.

“Gender ideology is so extreme, so anti-human and anti-body and anti-biology that people tend to think that they must be misunderstanding this,” Richards said. “But this is a major and civilization-determining reality because of its effects on children” (emphasis added).

Richards explained that gender dysphoria, the clinical term for the condition where an individual who has a psychological feeling that they are in the wrong body, has been around for a long time. However, he said that historically, it has been limited to pre-pubescent boys and 40-year-old (or older) men.

Seattle-Pacific University’s Students and Faculty Sue to Force it to Abandon Christian Beliefs

By: Bruce Hausknecht

Same-sex “marriage” was at one time sold to the American public as harmless.

“How is my gay marriage going to harm you?” was the constant refrain repeated over and over again, ultimately culminating in the U.S. Supreme Court calling it a constitutional “right” in 2015 in Obergefell v. Hodges.

It was good marketing, but the question was always disingenuous. And it didn’t take long for the question to be answered.

Fast forward a few years since Obergefell, and now, Seattle-Pacific University (SPU), a Christian educational institution in Seattle, founded by and affiliated with the Free Methodist Church, is being sued by a group of its own students and faculty for adhering to biblical standards concerning marriage and human sexuality when it comes to hiring faculty.

Did you catch that? A group of students and faculty, who voluntarily chose to either study at or teach at a Christian school, want to force the school to abandon core Christian standards about marriage.

The lawsuit seeks to force the school’s board of trustees, who are called “rogue” and other bad names by the plaintiffs, to stop adhering to the Bible and start hiring LGBT-identified teachers.

MSNBC’s Joe Scarborough Says ‘It’s Heresy’ to Say Jesus and Christianity Oppose Abortion

By: Daily Citizen Staff

In a predictable post-Roe tirade from central scripting about how dangerous pro-lifers are becoming of late – name a time when major media voices ever thought pro-lifers were honorable and reasonable? – MSNBC’s Joe Scarborough invoked Jesus on the ethics of abortion this past Friday morning. With all the passion of the finest fire-and-brimstone preacher, the Morning Joe host told his viewers,

“As a Southern Baptist who grew up reading the Bible, maybe a backslidden Baptist, but I still know the Bible, Jesus never once talked about abortion. Never once, and it was happening back in ancient times. It was happening during His time. Never once mentioned.”

The clear implication was that Jesus’ followers have no business talking about it either. But Scarborough wasn’t done telling Christians what to think. In fact, he says, “it’s heresy” for Christians to be uncompromisingly pro-life.

“And people perverting the gospel of Jesus Christ down to one issue, it’s heresy. If you don’t believe me, do something you haven’t done in a long time and open the Bible, open the New Testament, and read the red letters. You won’t see [abortion] there.”

Scarborough then demonstrates he appears to know next to nothing about what the pro-life movement has been doing over the last several decades to help women facing crisis pregnancies.
