This summer has been staggeringly hot. Heat waves have shattered records across the country over the past year. Right now California's power grid is straining, people are on high alert for flash floods, the Pacific Northwest is sweltering, we're even seeing heat rising in the Atlantic and Pacific oceans.

In short, the impacts of climate change are already upon us, causing storms, flooding, and dramatic temperature swings. Add to that a recent scientific report that shows we're on the brink of five disastrous tipping points, and the news right now is, frankly, tough to handle.
