The New Indulgence, or You Can’t Buy Virtue

To call the latest liberal fad “virtue signaling” has become almost cliché, but that is exactly what so much of it is.  People still wearing masks, save in a hospital are either complying with some local health silly person that is virtue signaling or virtue signaling themselves.  California telling everyone they HAVE to buy EV’s is virtue signaling.  It has also become cliché to analogize climate change activism to religion, but the overworn nature of the comparison does not negate its truthfulness.  The search for virtue, which so much of this is, is essentially a religious activity.
