2019 will be remembered
by the people I had the pleasure to meet, businesses I had the
opportunity to visit and the projects I have had the privilege to work on.
This has also been a bittersweet year as I announced in May that I
would not plan to run for reelection in 2020. So far, I have served in the
U.S. Senate for close to 23 years. This job has been an honor of a
lifetime and I give my deepest thanks and appreciation to the people of
Wyoming for the privilege that you have given me to represent you in
so many different ways. But I still have one year left in this job and
I plan to continue being the workhorse for Wyoming you expect me to
be. This coming year will be focused on completing what’s been
started and continuing to solve more problems for Wyoming. As you
reminisce on your own year, don’t forget to look forward and set your
own goals and priorities.

Senator Enzi celebrates
historic Wyoming Women's Suffrage Day
Wyoming Women’s
Suffrage Day on Dec. 10 was a monumental day at the very core of what
makes Wyoming the Equality State, according to U.S. Senator Mike Enzi,
R-Wyo. The day commemorated the 150th anniversary of Wyoming being
the first territory or state to grant women the right to
vote.
“Just as they did in 1869, women's
voices and their votes continue to help build our economy and guide our
democracy,” Enzi said. “Throughout history, Wyoming has
been home to many remarkable women and today still recognizes how
important women are to the success of the state. Wyoming Women's Suffrage
Day is a testament to the contributions women have made – and
continue to make – to Wyoming and the values that make our state
stand out as an example for the rest of the
country.”
Historic achievements for women in

Enzi supports bipartisan plan to end government
shutdowns
As Congress
approaches the threat of a second government shutdown this year, Enzi
cosponsored an updated version of the bipartisan Prevent Government
Shutdowns Act that would end future government shutdowns.
“Government shutdowns do not benefit anyone and
actually end up costing taxpayers more money,” Enzi said. “This
legislation would help hold Congress accountable while avoiding
irresponsible funding lapses. It is time to end unnecessary government
shutdowns for good.”

Enzi slams Congress for maxing out its credit card with no plan to pay
for spending
Enzi
criticized Congress for passing a last-minute spending deal that will
not only raise our national deficit by hundreds of billions of
dollars, but includes a host of unrelated pieces of
legislation.
“Christmas presents for everyone – all put
on the federal credit card, which is overspent already,” Enzi
said. "We should be talking about how to address the budgetary mess we
are in, not pressing the gas on our unsustainable fiscal trajectory,
which is exactly what this bill does."
