The November election will be decisive not only for our country, but also for our state. Will you help California YIMBY send more housing champions to Sacramento?

Because of term limits, there is going to be a much larger amount of turnover than usual among state legislators this year. We need to make sure that these vacancies are filled by candidates aligned with the YIMBY movement.

Some of our most important races in 2022 are in key districts in Southern California. We've endorsed four great housing champions. They need our help now to power their campaigns into these crucial final weeks.

Will you chip in $20 or more to support Catherine Blakespear, Juan Carrillo, Caroline Menjivar, and Pilar Schiavo – and California YIMBY's work to elect them?

All six of California YIMBY's priority bills made it through the legislature in 2022. That’s a big win. But with a larger than usual amount of turnover in Sacramento this year, we need to make sure we elect housing champions who will help provide leadership on housing bills in 2023 and beyond.

Our slate of Southern California candidates in 2022 includes:

Catherine Blakespear (SD-38), who helped build housing while mayor of Encinitas and is now running for the State Senate in a must-win seat.
Juan Carrillo (AD-39), who worked to build affordable housing while on the Palmdale City Council.
Caroline Menjivar (SD-20), who will fight to house the homeless and take an "all of the above" approach to housing policy in the State Senate.
Pilar Schiavo (AD-40), a nurse and small business owner who is determined to help people afford to live in the communities where they work.

California YIMBY's growing track record of legislative success can only be sustained if we elect these and other champions in November.

This is a crucial moment for these campaigns. Ballots will arrive in voters' mailboxes in just a few weeks. Candidates have to make decisions right now about how to spend their money. Southern California is one of the most expensive places in the country to reach voters with a pro-housing message that we know can win elections.

By stepping up right now to power these campaigns with a contribution, you can help them contact more voters in these critical days when voters are about to make up their minds. And you can show these campaigns that YIMBYs show up for our champions.
