Dear John,
It was a 2019 speech to remember!
Attorney General William Barr recently gave a speech at Notre Dame that I consider one of the most robust and articulate defenses of religious liberty to come from a federal figure in decades.
His thoughts on religious freedom in America reflect the importance and priority this administration has placed on protecting our first freedom, but he also sounds the alarm on the ongoing assault by the Left.
"Secularists, and their allies among the 'progressives,' have marshaled all the force of mass communications, popular culture, the entertainment industry, and academia in an unrelenting assault on religion and traditional values."
"Those who defy the creed risk a figurative burning at the stake--social, educational, and professional ostracism and exclusion waged through lawsuits and savage social media campaigns."
William Barr's speech reaffirms why we at Family Research Council focus so much of our attention on religious freedom. For over half a century, there has been an unrelenting attack on religion in America and an all-out effort to drive religion from public life.
When you give to FRC, you help us preserve and defend religious freedom for all believers. We need to raise $2.1 million this month before December 31 to end 2019 and start 2020 on firm financial footing.
Thanks to a generous Matching Challenge Grant that has increased to $1.5 million, we can reach that goal with your help. Your vital contribution will be DOUBLED, dollar for dollar, ensuring our continued success on your behalf.
DOUBLE MY GIFT
We cannot bow down to the Left's assault on religion. And as Barr noted, this attack "is organized destruction." It is an intentional dismantling of our Judeo-Christian beliefs.
We must be deliberate in our defense.
It is essential that we defend religious liberty--for the security and stability of our nation as well as to preserve the freedom to teach biblical truth to the next generation.
We will not bow down so that others may know the TRUTH that sets the captives free (John 8:32), and future generations may live in freedom.
Thank you for standing with us to preserve faith, family, and freedom in 2020 and beyond!
