We knew this was coming from the moment the Supreme Court overturned Roe v. Wade and took away our constitutional right to abortion: this week, Congressional Republicans introduced a nationwide abortion ban.

They want to pass a federal law that overrides state protections for abortion — including in District Of Columbia — and imposes a nationwide ban at 15 weeks of pregnancy. And they have no plans to stop until abortion is illegal nationwide. Congress needs to hear from you, from all of us.

Right now, 16 states have abortion bans in effect, forcing people to flee their home states to get the care they need or remain pregnant against their will. If a ban like the one introduced this week becomes law, the consequences will be devastating.
