A Triumph Of Hate
As you know, the House of Representatives passed two articles of impeachment against President Trump last night. Here is the roll call vote on article I, abuse of power. Here is the roll call vote on article II, obstruction of Congress.
Here's what you must remember: This is not over.
It will not end with Donald Trump. Leading progressives want to impeach Mike Pence and Justice Brett Kavanaugh too!
The left is also coming after you. But the only way they can marginalize us is to go through Trump.
Last night's sad spectacle was a triumph of hate. Hate against Trump and hate for you.
Hate for anyone who believes our rights come from God, not government.
Hate for anyone who believes unborn children deserve constitutional rights.
Hate for anyone who believes religious liberty is essential to freedom.
Hate for anyone who believes in the Second Amendment right to protect their family.
Needless to say, there were widespread celebrations in Hollywood and among the media. Pelosi had her hands full trying to prevent progressives from celebrating last night on the House floor.
Some Washington Post "journalists" were celebrating a "Merry Impeachmas" last night. They deleted their celebratory tweet and then lied about it!
Here's something else to keep in mind. Progressive/socialist Democrats who routinely condemn the Founding Fathers as a bunch of racists spent the last week quoting the Founders nonstop.
They think Obamacare is constitutional (it's not) and that the Constitution changes at whim. But they spent the last week quoting the Constitution as if it were sacred.
The party of radical secularism, whose last president tried to smash the Little Sisters of the Poor, spent the week in "solemn prayer" quoting the Bible.
There is no limit to their shamelessness.
The Sham Continues
As we have repeatedly noted, this was a sham process from the beginning. It was based on an anonymous complaint, not the law. It was poll-tested and focus-grouped. It was founded on hearsay. And the rules were repeatedly broken. But that's not all.
Last night, Speaker Nancy Pelosi suggested that she was going to hold the articles of impeachment until Senate Majority Leader Mitch McConnell conceded to her demands for a "fair trial" in the Senate. In fact, the president may never get a Senate trial.
This is absolutely unprecedented! McConnell did not dictate terms to Pelosi as to how the House should have conducted itself.
Pelosi just rammed through a partisan impeachment of the president on baseless charges, and now she's denying the Senate its constitutional role!
McConnell took to the Senate floor this morning and blasted this sham process. He said:
"The House's conduct risks deeply damaging the institutions of American government. This particular House of Representatives has let its partisan rage at this particular president create a toxic new precedent that will echo into the future. . .
"This case is not compelling, not overwhelming, and as a result, not bipartisan. . . And it was made even more clear last night, when Speaker Pelosi suggested that House Democrats may be too afraid to even transmit their work product to the Senate.
"The prosecutors are getting cold feet in front of the entire country and second-guessing whether they even want to go to trial."
More Judges
Here's some good news. While House Democrats were wasting time yesterday, Senate Republicans spent the day voting on more than a dozen Trump judges!
Leader McConnell told talk show host Hugh Hewitt that in his two terms, Barack Obama appointed 55 judges to the critical appeals courts, just below the Supreme Court. Donald Trump has appointed 50 appeals court judges in just three years.
