We can’t believe the news we woke up to this morning.

Late last night, a Delaware judge ruled that our state’s current law protecting our ability to vote-by-mail is unconstitutional. He deemed this right UNUSABLE for November, even after thousands of Delawareans just practiced voting by mail in this week's primary elections.

With just 54 days to go until Election Day, the rules for how to vote are changing, and voters across the state are now left in the dark.

We don’t have time to reflect on these new changes – instead, we need to act right away and make sure voters have all the information they need to participate in this November’s election. Earlier this year, Democrats successfully passed legislation that would allow vote-by-mail to continue in the 2022 election after it was first enacted in our 2020 elections. And Delawareans took that change to heart, opting to vote-by-mail in huge numbers this past primary. Our campaign has already identified thousands of voters who plan to vote by mail again in November, and it’s on us to make sure they know of this urgent change.

We need to reach out to each and every one of these voters to help make sure they have a new plan for Election Day – but this is no small feat. Democrats up and down the ballot are counting on us to help turn out as many voters as possible, and this new change in our election systems could completely upend our efforts.

By launching our Voter Protection Operation, we’re working to make sure every voter has what they need to vote this November, but we need to make sure we have the funds to continue our work until the very end.
