Last month, I wrote telling you that House Republicans had agreed upon a detailed plan of how to restore border security and fight overall illegal immigration if they win this fall's election.

Most political analysts say Republicans are likely to gain enough seats in November to take over control of the House, at least.

If they do, we will push them to immediately begin passing bills (or perhaps one big bill) to fulfill their border security promises. We all understand that getting these bills passed by the Senate and then signed by the open borders Pres. Biden will be very hard. But we have to start somewhere.

Increase penalties for Visa overstays. Many illegal aliens enter America legally, but simply never go home when their visa expires.

Enshrine into law the Migrant Protection Protocols, which required people who intended to claim refugee or asylum status to "Remain in Mexico."

Fix the Asylum process to efficiently process legitimate asylum applications, prevent fraud abuse, and require aliens to apply for asylum in countries closer to their own homes.

Ensure employees use E-Verify. E-Verify means businesses have no more excuses for hiring illegal aliens.

Prevent illegal aliens from receiving taxpayer-funded benefits. These actions will sharply reduce financial incentives to come to America illegally.

End parole abuse. The Biden Administration has also subverted laws against hiring illegal aliens and allowing deportation by simply handing out quasi-legal status without congressional authorization.

End "catch-and-release."

Fully fund immigration enforcement. Ensure that there are enough Border Patrol agents, ICE officers, judges, investigators, and detention spaces to better enable the enforcement of our laws.
