This past year Republicans have made strides in restoring common sense law and order in the Commonwealth. We at the Republican Party of Virginia want to highlight the fantastic work our Delegates and Senators in the General Assembly were able to accomplish this past session.
Today we highlight Delegate Joe McNamara. Before the 2022 Legislative Session, the Commonwealth of Virginia was one of 13 States to levy taxes on groceries. With rising inflation, newly elected Governor Glenn Youngkin asked the General Assembly to get rid of the tax on groceries. Delegate McNamara was the Chief Sponsor of HB 90 which provides an exemption for food purchased for human consumption & essential personal hygiene products.
