We talk a lot about what’s at stake this year – abortion rights. Health care. Action on gun violence and climate change.

But there’s something else at stake this year: Our democracy.

Ever since Donald Trump’s Big Lie, there have been Republican extremists pushing to overturn the 2020 presidential election. This year, there are even candidates for Attorney General in multiple states who don’t believe that Joe Biden won two years ago.

With more than two dozen Attorney General seats on the ballot this November – including in California – this is a big deal. Attorneys general can influence election laws, as well as launch legal challenges around voting rules. Anyone who believes Trump’s Big Lie is unfit for office.
