BREAKING: Senator Lindsey Graham announces intention to restrict abortion nationwide, Democrats are ready to fight back.
In June, we saw the devastating results of years of targeted, anti-choice policies at work when the Supreme Court turned the clock back half a century on freedom in this country. Since then people nationwide – from New York to Alaska – have stood up for reproductive rights champions. It’s clear that choice is on the ballot.
But today, Sen. Lindsey Graham announced his intention to sponsor a bill in the US Senate that would restrict abortions nationwide. It’s up to us to ensure this bill does not become law.
House Democrats, myself included, will stop at nothing to defend choice. There is too much on the line for the American people. We are fighting to defend women’s rights by codifying Roe, the far-right GOP has abandoned ‘states' rights’ in their latest attempt to control women’s rights.
Extremists in the GOP do not care about our rights. We’ve seen Republicans do all they can to take away women’s rights. That is not the party we need in the majority.
While the far-right GOP made today’s announcement, my Democratic colleagues and I were joining together to celebrate the monumental passing of the Inflation Reduction Act. Republicans are introducing bills to restrict abortion nationwide, while Democrats are passing laws to lower costs for Americans on healthcare, energy, and prescription drugs.
This November, the choice is clear. With only 8 weeks to go, defending PA-05 and turning out voters is our message coming into these final weeks is my top priority. My team and I are ready to go, but we need you to chip in so we have the resources to reach voters. Can I count on you to donate $8 to our campaign?
