House Judiciary Committee Chairman Jerry Nadler (D-NY) told reporters that he cannot comprehend how Senate Majority Leader Mitch McConnell (R-KY) “can possibly take the oath that he is required to take” in a Senate trial.

Shortly after the House voted for Trump’s impeachment, President Trump went on the offensive and condemned Nancy Pelosi’s actions.
According to The Federalist Papers ([link removed]), Trump stated, “We didn’t lose one Republican vote.”
Adding that this impeachment was “illegal” and “unconstitutional,” and called it a “political suicide march for the Democratic party.”
“But proceeding with your invalid impeachment you’re violating your oath of office, breaking your allegiance to the constitution, declaring open war on American democracy,” Trump directed at Pelosi.

Senate Judiciary Committee Chairman Lindsey Graham told the public that he will not support the idea of calling witnesses in the upcoming Senate impeachment trial of President Trump.
According to the Washington Examiner ([link removed]), “I’m going to tell the president, ‘no,’ to his witnesses request because I think what is best for the country is to get this behind us as soon as possible,” Graham stated.
