A lot has been happening recently with the Department of Justice’s investigation of Trump. Top secret documents found at Mar-a-lago. 40 subpoenas for Trump’s inner circle. January 6th convictions. It feels like everyday we’re learning more and more about how far this conspiracy has spread.
First off, I’m not a lawyer so I’ll leave that to the legal experts. What I can say is that no one is above the law in the United States, not even a former President. And if crimes were committed, they should be prosecuted to the fullest extent of the law.
We’ve also seen that the reaction from MAGA extremists has been swift and severe. Marjorie Taylor Greene is calling for the impeachment of Attorney General Merrick Garland. MAGA social media is calling for the overthrow of the FBI. Let’s be clear - attacking our judicial system won't make charges disappear. That's not how it works in our democracy.
