Dear Friend,
It has been quite the summer for all of us here at Muslim Advocates. Exactly one month ago, as you may know, we announced our new Executive Director Omar Farah [[link removed]] and the response from our supporters, partners, former staff and clients have been so heartwarming!
Working in coalition with a diverse alliance of activists, communities, partner groups and other leaders is vital to the work of Muslim Advocates. We know that we are stronger when we work together. Through these partnerships, we are able to amplify our own work, lend support to other efforts to defend civil rights and build meaningful relationships with impacted communities.
That’s why it was so touching and meaningful to us when so many people from so many amazing causes and organizations joined us to welcome Omar to Muslim Advocates. It matters so much to us that so many leading lights, who have real skin in the fight for justice, took the time to send us words of congratulations and encouragement about Omar. Today, I’d like to share just a few of those uplifting responses.
Ambereen Khan, a longtime friend of Muslim Advocates and the host and executive producer of Interfaith Voices [[link removed]] , said, “I have spent my life working to amplify the voices of people of faith and goodwill to foster understanding and protect religious pluralism in our nation. Throughout his years as a civil rights attorney and activist, Omar Farah has similarly prioritized the need to listen as an advocate dedicated to combating injustice. As someone who has supported Muslim Advocates from the beginning, I am thrilled the organization will be led by an emerging leader who prioritizes working alongside targeted communities of all faiths and creeds to fight injustice.”
Here are just a few other warm welcomes we received about Omar:

It means so much that these amazing people and organizations (and many, many more) took the time to say “Salaam Omar!” They, like us, believe in Omar and in Muslim Advocates. Omar officially starts as executive director just a couple of weeks from now on Sept. 26 and we can’t wait to share more information about our future plans. Stay tuned!
