Chris here — I want to make sure you saw my team's email yesterday about this pivotal moment in our campaign.

Today’s the half(-ish) point of September, but we’re not quite halfway to our fundraising goals for the month — goals that’ll help us secure the resources we need to defeat Sarah Huckabee Sanders in November. I’m writing directly to you today in hopes you can pitch in ahead of our mid-month deadline tonight, and here’s why:

Over the past few months revisiting each of Arkansas’ 75 counties (still a few more to go!), I've seen the impact we’ve been having on our state’s voters and their young ones. When our campaign launched, we made the ambitious claim that we’d change the conversation about how to win in a historically “red” state like ours, and it’s clear to me and the team that, day-by-day, we’re getting it done.

We’re looking to do something that’s never been done before in our state, and that’s going to require a historic effort from a historic grassroots coalition. We’ve got less than 54 days until the election, and we’ve got to make the most of every single one. By helping us meet and exceed these fundraising goals, you’ll be doing more than just helping me become the next Governor of Arkansas — you’ll be helping unlock the potential of this great state.

We’re outworking Sarah Huckabee Sanders by far, and I take pride in knowing the time and energy we’re putting into our outreach. We want Arkansans to know that as their Governor, I understand the challenges they face, and I’m willing to meet them where they are. Our best chance of elevating our politics and our great state is together.

Our opponent is dangerous — not just for Arkansas, but the entire country — and the lack of effort she’s giving in this race is arrogant and a clear indication of how she’ll behave if she wins. She’s not in this race for anyone but herself and her national megadonors, and we’re the last line of defense against her brand of politics. 

But if we stay behind our pace for the month, we’ll put all of the hard work we’ve done so far in jeopardy, and we’re too close to the finish line for that to happen. We need a major push today and tonight to get back on track, and I know this grassroots movement has the strength to make it happen.
