John, When I last reached out to you a few weeks ago, the bipartisan Afghan Adjustment Act had just been introduced. If passed, this Act would allow over 76,000 Afghans who entered the U.S. on humanitarian parole to have a pathway to become legal permanent residents and eventually U.S. citizens. I know I have asked you this before, but will you join me once again in asking your representatives in Congress to cosponsor and pass the Afghan Adjustment Act? Take action now » Since the bill was introduced, over 100 members of Congress from both sides of the aisle and in both the House and Senate have cosponsored this bill. Next week, there might be an opportunity for Congress to include this Act in a must-pass bill. While 100+ cosponsors is a good start, additional bipartisan congressional support is needed to ensure passage of the Act and a pathway to citizenship for Afghan parolees. John, that's where you come in: I'm personally asking you to urge your representative to co-sponsor this important Act:   In less than five minutes, you will be able to thank any of your representatives who have cosponsored while also urging your Congress members who have yet to do so to add their names. As always, we cannot do this without your support. Sincerely, Melinda, IRC Advocacy |
