At New Leaders Council, our community embodies leadership driven by a diversity of background, identity, and sectors. The #NLCFamily cherishes that we are leaders from a variety of perspectives for work and life. 

This legacy of inclusive dreamers, doers, and changemakers continues with our newest class of Fellows. 

The 2020 New Leaders Council Fellows Class is truly representative of this vibrant diversity. The 2020 cohort is comprised of 930 dynamic emerging leaders full of passion and determination. They are entrepreneurs, elected officials, nonprofit leaders, activists, journalists, and educators. They are pushing the limits to ignite meaningful change in their communities and across the nation.

The 2020 NLC Fellows class represents one of our nation’s most diverse generations with 66% of Fellows self-identifying as People of Color. Additionally, 64% of Fellows are female and 22% report identifying as LGBTQIA. Whether a CEO from Rhode Island, an educator from Oklahoma, a government affairs specialist from Palm Beach, or a grassroots organizer from Oakland, these individuals have one thing in common – they are the progressive future of our communities and our country.

NLC community members are running for elected office, managing campaigns, working in government, running nonprofits, and starting small businesses; and it all began with the NLC Institute.  

Starting next month, in cities and states across the country, these leaders will meet to gain the network and skills that solve the most critical challenges facing our country.  Join us in welcoming these civic, social, and business entrepreneurs to the #NLCFamily!
