Just one week after my daughter Jaime was murdered at Marjory Stoneman Douglas High School in Parkland, Florida, I confronted Marco Rubio at a town hall on gun safety.

Heartbroken and angry, I wanted answers on why assault weapons were purchasable in the first place and how we could keep weapons of war off our streets so no other parent would have to have to feel the same blinding pain.

Marco Rubio couldn't even look me in the eye. After the town hall, he refused to work with the Parkland survivors and has continued to oppose efforts to reduce gun violence in our country. 

Marco Rubio has made it clear that he does not care about our safety – but Congresswoman Val Demings does. Time and time again, Demings has fought for lifesaving gun safety legislation and she has vowed to continue that fight in the Senate. And now, it's time that we finally replace cowardly Rubio with someone who truly cares about ending the gun violence epidemic. 

That's why I'm doing everything I can to help Val Demings defeat Rubio and become Florida's next senator, because she can't win this fight alone.

Right now, the GOP is attempting to bury her under wave after wave of multimillion-dollar attack ads, and she can only fight back if we ALL chip in to her Mid Month goal.

With less than eight weeks weeks left before Election Day, Val Demings' Mid Month goal for September is the most important goal of her campaign so far. She cannot afford to fall short and let a gun lobby crony like Rubio outraise her this month, so please:
