Judicial Watch
Dear Judicial Watch Member,

Your Judicial Watch is on a winning streak in the courts striking down radical Leftist laws that discriminate based on race, gender, ethnicity, and sexual orientation.

And I need to know YES or NO...will you give your support to Judicial Watch, so that we can continue to fight to stop the Left from undermining our bedrock American principles of “equal opportunity” and “equal protection under the law?”

As you know, where others talk, Judicial Watch acts…and where it counts...in the courts.

I’m pleased to report that your Judicial Watch is rolling up important victories against the radical Left’s attempt to advance programs and laws that create discrimination in America… discrimination based on race, on gender, on ethnicity, on sexual orientation

Why? So that they can divide Americans against each other for their own politicalgain.

But the Left didn’t count on having to deal with Judicial Watch, so let me quickly recap for you three of our victories this year in this important area of our work…

In January, the City of Asheville (NC) settled a Judicial Watch federal civil rights lawsuit we had filed on behalf of a North Carolina citizens group seeking to overturn a city-sponsored scholarship program that excluded individuals who were not Black.

And the Asheville City Council settled our lawsuit by agreeing to remove all racially discriminatory provisions from the scholarship program, as well as from a related program that provides grants to educators…a clear victory for the rule of law!

In April, your Judicial Watch scored another major victory when a California court ruled unconstitutional the state’s racial, ethnic and LGBT quota for corporate boards of directors. The court granted Judicial Watch’s motion for summary judgment in our lawsuit on behalf of three California taxpayers who challenged the constitutionality of this quota scheme.

 We argued that “Laws that explicitly distinguish between individuals on racial or ethnic, sexual preference, or transgender status grounds fall within the core of the prohibition of the equal protection clause.”

 And in its April ruling that shook the Left and the state’s liberal political establishment to its core, the court agreed with Judicial Watch and ruled the quota unconstitutional under California’s constitution!

Then in May, another California court delivered another victory to Judicial Watch and another blow to the Left when it struck down a 2018 diversity mandate (Senate Bill 826) which required every publicly held corporation headquartered in California to have at least one director “who self-identifies her gender as a woman” on its board by December 31, 2019.

After a 28-day trial, the judge in this case agreed with Judicial Watch lawyers (who had again sued the state’s Attorney General on behalf of three California taxpayers) and “determine[d] that SB 826 violates the Equal Protection Clause of the California Constitution and is thus enjoined.”

So, just a few weeks apart, Judicial Watch lawyers persuaded two California courts that two different quota schemes were unconstitutional and delivered two stinging defeats to the radical Left’s unprecedented attacks on anti-discrimination.

And our earlier settlement in North Carolina successfully reasserted the principle that discrimination based on race against any racial group is impermissible.

So I need to know if you support our continued investigations and litigation to stand firm for the principle of “equal opportunity and protection under the law” and against illegal discrimination.

As a conservative, you know that Judicial Watch’s commitment is to uphold the U.S. Constitution and the rule of law…and that includes our laws against racial discrimination!

But the radical Left’s Marxist commitment to dividing Americans against each other is being played out in many arenas and localities…and that means Judicial Watching must continue to lead the fight against the radical Left on multiple, critically important fronts, including:

  • Exposing the use of taxpayer dollars to indoctrinate elementary and high-school students with noxious, Marxist and racist Critical Race Theory (CRT) in more and more states and communities;
  • Filing federal civil rights lawsuits on behalf of public school teachers fired from their jobs for exercising their First Amendment free speech rights and criticizing CRT and other extremist programs in their schools (we just won when we reached a settlement on behalf of one of our teacher clients in Massachusetts);
  • Filing friends of the court briefs in support of challenges to race-based admissions programs at both private and public colleges and universities, including Harvard and the University of North Carolina where our arguments prevailed in recent rulings;

You see, all of these efforts…research, investigations, filing federal and state open records law requests, and lawsuits…come with very real price tags attached to them.

But I believe, as I’m sure you do, that our work countering the Left’s efforts to corruptly pit Americans against each other is worth it…

…especially since we are virtually the “only game in town” when it comes to taking on the Biden Justice Department, liberal politicians in Congress and state legislatures...plus the corrupt liberal media, who are all working hand-in-glove with the Marxist Left to destroy our laws against discrimination.

We want to keep on winning for your values as we seek to educate Americans about corruption of the rule of law by the radical Left…but we need you to help us!

No one is fighting harder for you than your Judicial Watch, and we can do more if you will help again today. I look forward to welcoming you to the Judicial family of contributors!

Sincerely,
