*The Queen*
The nation mourns the passing of our Queen, Elizabeth II, on September 8th. For almost all of us we have never known another monarch of Great Britain. For many she embodied both a connection with our near past, when Britain could be said to still be recognisably British, but also, sadly, her reign marked the transition into something else. This recognition of the monarchy’s representative Britishness was most clearly seen in the reaction of *our* people lining the highways and streets to mourn the loss of their Queen. The crowds which have gathered outside Buckingham Palace, as well as on the journey of the cortege from Balmoral to Edinburgh, showed their unmistakable British heritage - barely flecked with a few others - both in their background but also their demeanour. They keenly felt at this moment the loss of a part of their own identity too through the loss of *their* Head of State after seven continuous decades. It was a brief moment of eclipse for that sense of continuity running above the political vicissitudes and an echo of a more symbolic, ancient and primal sense of the individual who is elevated as an embodiment of a people. It was a vivid reminder of a deeper understanding of authority than that which is provided by the latest polished salesmen on the political scene asking for your credulity one more time. These widely felt sentiments took many on our political side by surprise. As we proceed with trepidation as to the future of Britain, we hope, perhaps against our own intuitions, to find in her successor a worthy representative who we can unselfconsciously cheer *God Save The King!*

*The monarchy has been effective in providing a focus of loyalty above politics. It has made it possible for people who disagree radically about how the nation should be governed nevertheless to share an object of affection by which the nation as a whole is symbolised. *~ Sir Roger Scruton.

*Our President*
It is with great sadness that we advise the death of our much admired President, The Lord Sudeley, on September 5th. He will be remembered as a great parliamentarian and traditionalist who throughout his life stood for a Traditional Britain in every possible respect. Please see his obituary on our website:

*Conference*
This year’s Annual Conference will take place on Saturday *October 8th,* all day. Attendees may begin arriving for tea/coffee from 8.45 a.m. There is under one month to go, do book now.

We have a terrific line-up of highly qualified speakers including an AfD MEP, Professor Ed Dutton, John Laughland, the renowned expert on Russian affairs, who will give us a different account of the conflict in the Ukraine than our media has, plus Neema Parvini ('Academic Agent') a Shakespeare academic forced out of academia and an excellent author on the subject of elite theory. You will hear from seven leading speakers and two additional speakers who only wish to say a few words. We will also pay our respects, including to our late President. Despite rising costs we have continued to keep prices down. Well over half the seats are already booked and we hope to see you on the 8th!

*Prime Minister*
We find it hard to give the benefit of the doubt, yet again, to this latest Prime Minister, a former member of the Liberal Democratic Party and who once called for the abolition of the British monarchy. Listening to her on the radio when she was Foreign Secretary, her knowledge of other countries and of history in general was deficient for someone in such a position. Her current liberal internationalist views of a 'Global Britain' (see the co-authored book *Britain Unchained *or her association with groups like the IEA and AEI) with the UK seen as an economic zone with 'values', not a people, does not bode well for protecting our national cohesiveness or rebuilding our industrial base, or in areas of national energy security. The party, by putting forward an alien heritage candidate alongside this particular woman as the only two possible options for the membership is insulting to *our *people and another demonstration of the non-Conservative Party’s absolute adherence to Liberal-Left values and their inability to grasp how offensive this is to traditionalists and real Tories up and down the country. As many European nations begin to shake off progressive internationalist values, we must work to ensure this trend is also well represented in our own country.

*The Alien Invasion*
The invasion continues. The Government will be pleased that as there is so much other news at the moment they will be hoping that we have all forgotten about this. We have not. Under the United Nations Refugee Convention aliens must stay in the first stable free country they arrive in. Evidently we are the last, and they must cross a great many such countries before they arrive in the UK. The British Government is therefore, under international law, in a position to instantly deport ALL aliens to either the last free country they were in or to their natural homelands. The question must be asked why Westminster declines to take such direct and positive action on behalf of the indigenous British Nation against these invaders. Almost 30,000 illegal migrants have arrived in the UK so far this year on small boats alone. It is a wake-up call to everyone that the government can no longer protect our country. Worse, over 1 million longer-stay visas have been granted in this previous year alone.

*Climate change?*
With spiralling prices and the dependence on foreign markets for our energy security, we need to be alive to those promoting the Green agenda. Many believe that it is impossible for mere mortals to stop nature in its tracks and to dramatically influence climate. Is 'man-made climate change’ yet another left-wing hobby-horse? We suggest getting alternative opinions, including here:

*Freezing this winter?*
The TBG is completely opposed to the government’s material and financial support to other countries wars (and through aid), especially if it means our people here in the UK are going to suffer. The media, especially the BBC, have been less than honest in trying to lay the problems we suffer here only at Putin's door. British sanctions against Russia, with whom we maintain normal diplomatic relations, and with whom we are not at war, are unacceptable if they mean massive hikes in inflation and us freezing to death (literally for old people). This is the UK government and its allies doing.

The TBG Committee wishes to once again thank all of you for continuing to maintain your membership subscriptions. Your support is vital to us.
