Giant corporate factory farms dominate animal agriculture — and they have no
mercy when it comes to the animals in their care. Penny, a pig, suffered on a
factory farm with untreated wounds. For months, she was left to suffer — unable
to stand or eat properly — until she was finally shot in the head.

The work of undercover investigators has exposed cruel conditions on factory
farms:

* Animals have their testicles, tails, horns, beaks, or toes removed… without anesthesia;
* Piglets deemed too small are killed by repeatedly slamming their heads on the
ground;
* Dairy cows are constantly impregnated to keep them producing milk, with their male
calves killed as a waste product because they cannot produce milk;
* And male chicks — useless for egg production — are routinely tossed alive into meat
grinders.

In an effort to keep these horrific practices hidden from public scrutiny,
Ag-Gag laws are put in place — making it illegal for people to record footage of
the squalid conditions and inhumane practices of factory farms. We’ve sued and
successfully struck down Ag-Gag laws as being unconstitutional in Idaho and
Utah, and are currently fighting lawsuits in Iowa, Kansas, Arkansas, and North
Carolina.

The harsh truth is that tough legal battles like these can take years and
require ongoing funding. We’ll fight for as long as it takes to win justice for
