John, Mike Pence, whom absolutely no one asked, is weighing in on Lindsey Graham’s radical federal abortion ban bill.

Ahead of appearing with Gov. Youngkin at an anti-choice gala in D.C. last night, Pence said the GOP’s abortion bans should trump their political strategy. Breaking with Mitch McConnell and more pragmatic Republicans, Pence predicted that conservative excitement for these bans would surpass Democratic ire.

New Democratic registrations are already proving Pence wrong, but we need to put our money where our mouth is. While Graham’s nationwide abortion ban is unlikely to pass in this Congress, bills just like it are passing in state legislatures across the country. Just yesterday, our neighbor West Virginia became the latest state to adopt a near-total abortion ban.

John, Youngkin is happy to cavort with Pence, and if he got his way, Virginia would look like West Virginia or Gilead. Virginia Democrats need to come together to prevent that from ever happening.
