Americans Are Overwhelmingly Satisfied with their Health Coverage, Finds New PRI National Survey

Sen. Bernie Sanders, I-Vermont, and proponents of a “Medicare for All” system that would outlaw private health insurance contend that people are not satisfied with their current health care coverage.
But the results of a new national survey commissioned by PRI find that 86 percent of Americans are satisfied with their current health insurance plans, compared to 8 percent who said they were dissatisfied.

Among the most troubling trends in a report out last month from the Centers for Disease Control and Prevention was a significant decline in life expectancy among Native Americans.
Non-Hispanic American Indians and Alaskan Natives, as the CDC categorizes them, had life expectancy of 65.2 years in 2021. That’s 6.6 years fewer than in 2019 — a bigger drop than any other racial group. It’s also nearly 11 years lower than the national average.

Medicare Advantage Is A Diamond In The Government Healthcare Rough

A record 28.4 million seniors get their insurance through Medicare Advantage, according to a new analysis by the Kaiser Family Foundation. They account for nearly half of all eligible Medicare beneficiaries.
And that share will likely increase. The Congressional Budget Office predicts that more than 60% of the total Medicare population will be in Medicare Advantage plans by 2032.
