Nothing would make Iowa Senate Republicans happier than a national abortion ban — an act that would dissolve abortion care for millions of Americans. You can watch the speech here.

My fellow Iowa Senate Democrats and I will never stop fighting for safe and legal abortions in our state. Right now, Iowa is one of very few red states in the country where abortion is still legal. But it’s in serious jeopardy: we’ve already seen GOP Senate President Jake Chapman try to make abortion a hate crime in Iowa, and even vote against allowing pharmacists to prescribe birth control.

Our only defense is electing Democrats at the state level who will stand up for reproductive freedom, and that starts with reaching every voter in key districts across Iowa.
