** IMPEACHMENT!
------------------------------------------------------------

**
House Speaker Nancy Pelosi, speaking right after the House impeached President Trump, said "December 18th, is a great day for the Constitution of the United States; a sad one for America that the president's reckless activities necessitated us having to introduce articles of impeachment.

“I could not be prouder or more inspired by the moral courage of the House Democrats. We never asked one of them how they were going to vote. We never whipped this vote. I view this day, this vote, as something that we did to honor the vision of our founders to establish a republic, the sacrifice of our men and women in uniform to defend our democracy and the republic, and the aspirations of our children that they will always live in a democracy, and we have tried to do everything we can to make sure that that is their reality.”

** FELLSMERE CHILDREN
------------------------------------------------------------

**
I am delighted to report that thanks to your generosity 51 teenagers in Fellsmere will have a Christmas present under the tree this year. Tonight, I will be helping to hand out all those gift cards to parents in Fellsmere. The Fellsmere Action Community Team (FACT) were astounded and extremely grateful when I told them how the Democrats of Indian River had come together for their community. Thank you all so much!

** NOVEMBER VOLUNTEER OF THE MONTH
------------------------------------------------------------

**
Although a bit late, we are celebrating the November Volunteer of the Month – Jim St. Martin! Jim has been our fearless and hard-working Data “guy”. He has created a dedicated DATA team that meets twice a week (Monday and Wednesday from 1-3 pm at Headquarters) that provides information our precinct captains need to do their precinct work. He is leading us to victory in our Vote By Mail goal. Thank you so much for your endless hours of data management and always cheerful attitude, Jim. You are greatly appreciated!

** VOTER PROTECTION
------------------------------------------------------------

**
Attorneys and retired attorneys Claudette Pelletier and Thomas Kennedy and Arlen Tompkins and Fred Grumman (respectively) are working with the Florida Democratic Party Voter Protection Taskforce to gear up our efforts in Indian River County to guard against voter suppression. All four are volunteering their time and legal abilities to be sure we have transparent and fair elections. Thanks to each of you for your dedication to our democracy in which every vote matters.

Hannukkah begins. Hannukkah is a Jewish festival ([link removed]) also known as the Festival of Lights. Hanukkah is observed for eight nights and days. The festival is observed by lighting the candles of a candelabrum ([link removed]) with nine branches, called a menorah ([link removed](Hanukkah)) (or hanukkiah). One branch is typically placed above or below the others and its candle is used to light the other eight candles. This unique candle is called the shamash ([link removed]) . Each night, one additional candle is lit by the shamash until all eight candles are lit together on the final night of the festival.
