John, Jackson, Mississippi is facing a clean water crisis.
A combination of poor infrastructure, climate change and structural racism have left hundreds of thousands of the city’s predominantly Black residents without clean drinking water.
Residents in Jackson are paying the price after more than five decades of neglect by the State— needing to wait in long lines for fresh water while brown, undrinkable water pours out of their taps.
This crisis not only impacts the quality of life for Jackson’s residents, but also impacts Jackson’s schools, businesses, and local economy — further strangling the under-resourced city.
A lasting and long-term solution requires that the State government provide the investments they have willfully neglected to deliver. But in the meantime, One Voice of Mississippi is providing water relief to reduce the harm.
Will you please consider adding a donation to help One Voice provide clean water to Jackson’s residents while the water crisis persists?
Thank you for helping out where you can.
In solidarity,
Barbara Lee
