The Biden Administration recently announced that the Department of Veterans Affairs (VA) will start providing abortion services through the VA healthcare system – regardless of life-saving laws in pro-life states like Georgia. As a veteran, I’m incredibly concerned and disturbed by this news, as the VA should be solely focused on providing timely, high-quality care to our nation’s veterans – not murdering precious unborn citizens with taxpayer dollars. This is just the latest attempt from the Biden Administration to attack the sanctity of life, circumvent the will of the American people, and undermine the integrity of the Supreme Court.

In response, my friend and colleague, Rep. Michael Cloud (R-TX), and I led 43 of our colleagues in sending a letter to VA Secretary McDonough demanding he immediately rescind the VA’s rule that allows the Department to provide abortion services. If Secretary McDonough refuses to revoke this reprehensible and unlawful rule, Congress must swiftly hold the Biden Administration accountable for this unprecedented overreach and abuse of power. As a proud pro-life Republican, I will continue to condemn President Biden’s murderous crusade against the unborn and support measures to block the Administration’s unjust actions. 

Last week, I hosted a roundtable at Lanier Technical College with state and local elected officials and election administrators from across Georgia’s Ninth District to discuss election security preparedness ahead of the November elections. Strong election integrity improves voter confidence and increases voter turnout, which is why it’s imperative that elected officials and election administrators here in the Ninth work together to safeguard our elections process. In addition to discussing the importance of SB 202, our productive roundtable discussion included beneficial insight regarding access to critical resources, poll worker recruitment, and the incredible work election officials are conducting to guarantee our upcoming elections are secure and transparent. Despite Washington Democrats’ attempts to federalize our elections, I’m pleased that the Ninth District is unified in protecting and bolstering our state and local electoral processes — ensuring Northeast Georgians have honest, fair, and free elections.

After spending several wonderful weeks traveling across the District, I’m back in Washington this week to continue fighting for commonsense solutions to get our nation back on track. On Thursday, Democrats on the Oversight Committee will attempt to vilify oil companies in order to push their radical Green New Deal policies. I look forward to blasting the Left’s anti-American energy agenda that continues to burden you and your family with unaffordable energy bills and high prices at the pump.
