Once the SAFE-T Act goes into effect in 2023, cash bail will be eliminated for just about every offense, including kidnapping, armed robbery, second degree murder, drug induced homicide, aggravated DUI, threatening a public official, and aggravated fleeing and eluding.
Plus, offenders released on electronic monitoring have to be in violation for 48 hours before law enforcement can act—meaning they can basically get to Alaska before the police can even step in!
But the scariest part of this extreme piece of legislation is that law enforcement will no longer be able to remove trespassers from your property as a homeowner and business. It’s about to be free reign for criminals in IL-6 and across the state.
With Nancy Pelosi and Sean Casten in control of the House, we could begin to see extreme legislation like the SAFE-T Act make its way to Washington. We have to flip the House!
