The year may be ending, but the Trump administration’s attacks on our communities are relentless.

Dear Friend,

The year may be ending, but the Trump administration’s attacks on our communities are relentless.

This time the Trump administration is trying to push through a little-known regulation change to make DACA renewals, along with other immigration applications, even more expensive than they already are — and then the administration will funnel that money to fund ICE and its deportation force.

We’ve written a new entry to our blog, “The Torch,” breaking down the specifics of Trump’s new schemeread it here.

This proposed policy would disproportionately harm low-income immigrants. Studies show that DACA recipients already struggle to cover the cost of the $495 renewal fee. Now the Trump administration is seeking to increase that by 55 percent, to $765. He’s also introducing a new fee for people seeking asylum.

Trump’s proposed scheme goes against everything our country should stand for, but we can stop him. Members of the public still have time to submit comments on the regulations that would increase immigration fees, and, by law, each comment must be read by a government official. If enough of us comment, we can delay these regulations and prevent them from harming our communities.

Read our blog in “The Torch” to learn more, and then head to StopTrumpsScheme.com to submit your comment rejecting this cash grab for Trump’s deportation force.

Thank you for all that you do.
