Republicans insisted in the wake of the overturn of Roe v. Wade that they wanted abortion rights to be up to the states.
But yesterday, Lindsey Graham (R-SC) and his Republican allies in the Senate introduced a national abortion ban. They're trying to ban abortions for everyone in this country — including in blue states like New York where the right remains.
We can't let Republicans strip us of our rights, or let them gain a majority in the House or Senate. That's what's at stake in this election. Will you chip in to our campaign before our upcoming mid-month deadline so I can keep fighting for our rights?
If Republicans control the House or Senate, the results for our country could be disastrous. They have made it clear they want to impose their radical, unpopular agenda — abortion bans, attacking gay and trans kids, overturning democracy itself — on places like New York, where we've roundly rejected it. Their "Protecting Pain Capable Unborn Children from Late-Term Abortions Act" (a misleading title for a national abortion ban) shows how they plan to attack basic human rights if they gain control.
If we keep the House and Senate, we can abolish the filibuster, codify Roe v. Wade, take further action on climate change, and continue making progress in this country.
