John,

The GOP knows it’s on the ropes.

The party has done nothing since the election of Donald Trump but stack the Federal Courts, undermine environmental protections, and take away a woman’s right to make her own decisions about her own body.

And they’re about to dump millions of dollars into competitive races right here in Colorado.

Colorado’s new Congressional maps resulted in a brand new district, CO-08. Because the maps were just drawn, this seat is up for grabs. And they’re about to spend almost $3M to flip it red:
Kirkmeyer is an extremist who once led the effort for 11 GOP-held counties to secede from Colorado and create a 51st state. Like her fellow “secessionists,” Kirkmeyer believed that pro-environmental legislation and pro-worker economic policies were going to “destroy” Colorado. Kirkmeyer is not only being haunted by that abject failure—she’s scrubbed her radical position on abortion from her campaign website.

We don’t have to let an extreme, literal separatist win this seat. We can send a message to voters who will elect the first-ever Representative for Colorado’s new 8th district that they have a choice.

Unlike Kirkmeyer (who has called for a total ban on abortion including in cases of rape and incest), Yardira Caraveo is a pediatrician and an experienced state lawmaker who truly believes in serving the people of Colorado.

Dr. Caraveo believes every woman has a right to privacy and to control her own medical decisions. She also believes that we all need affordable healthcare, living wages and retirement, and more bold action to cut carbon emissions.
