The extreme Republicans running for high-profile offices here in Minnesota are so far out of touch with our values. Last weekend, our Republican opponent Congressman Pete Stauber, who has repeatedly voted against abortion rights and women’s health care, appeared at a rally with Lieutenant Governor candidate Matt Birk.

Pete Stauber’s own record when it comes to abortion and women’s health care is equally as damning as Matt Birk’s comments. Stauber voted against the Women’s Health Protect Act. He voted against codifying Roe v. Wade after it was overturned this summer. And he even voted against women’s access to contraception. 

Congressman Stauber claims he’s all for individual freedom.

But the truth is he wants to take us back to a time where women and marginalized communities weren’t just second-class citizens, they feared for their safety and their livelihood.
