Friends:

After the Supreme Court struck down Roe v. Wade, we knew it was only a matter of time before Republicans tried to seize this moment and push for a nationwide abortion ban.

Well, yesterday was the day.

Yesterday, Lindsey Graham and Senate Republicans introduced a bill to ban abortion nationwide.

Right now, we have the votes to stop this bill in the Senate, but not if I or any of my Democratic colleagues lose our races in November.

And what worries me is this is exactly the type of bill my opponent would support if she wins this race. She and Lindsey Graham will strip away the rights of millions of Americans if we give them the chance.

I’m sure many of you are pretty scared and angry and I am too. But we need to turn that anger into action and make our stance on this issue clear. Will you join me, Friend?

Add your name to call on Congress to act immediately to enshrine the right to safe and legal abortion into law. It is as important as ever that we protect abortion rights.

Republicans want to drag our country back to a time when we can’t have autonomy over our bodies and make important health decisions for ourselves—something that’s particularly cruel when those same Republicans are the reason so many Americans don’t have access to maternal healthcare, child care and paid parental leave.

This is exactly why we need more pro-choice Democrats in the Senate. Because we know if Republicans regain control, they could succeed in passing this nationwide ban on abortion.

But it remains my hope that we can pass legislation that affirms the constitutional right to an abortion at the federal level.

Thank you for reading. I'll be in touch with more soon.

All my best,

Tammy Duckworth
