I wanted to take a moment to follow up on my campaign manager’s note for you.
Kansans deserve leaders who will fight for our freedoms, not against them. Just weeks after Adkins’ anti-choice ballot measure failed with voters, it’s clear that I am the only person in this race who will fight for all of us.
We’re not just taking on Adkins and her wealthy family — we’re also up against massive spending from outside groups that want to flip this toss up seat. Just this week, Kevin McCarthy’s Super PAC launched a new attack ad against me, and we need to break through the noise and get our own ads on the air to fight back.
I have always fought to protect and expand our rights, supporting codifying abortion rights and birth control access into federal law and passing my marriage equality bill in the House just this summer.
My opponent tries to spin it, talking a big game about “supporting women in the workplace”, but one of the most important issues for working women is being able to make their own reproductive health care decisions.
Adkins talks about supporting women, but what it boils down to is the exact opposite. Now with Lindsey Graham’s new abortion ban legislation, we need leaders who will stand up against extreme measures.
