Following the Supreme Court’s disastrous decision to overturn Roe v. Wade , red states across the country pounced at the opportunity to roll back reproductive rights. Now, Congressional Republicans are following suit. Senator Lindsey Graham just introduced a national ban on abortion in the Senate yesterday.

This news is sickening, but not surprising. Ever since Roe was repealed, we have raised the alarm bells that the GOP would seek to ban abortion federally if they returned to power – and we were right . Lindsey Graham just proved that this will be the GOP’s top priority if they take back the House in November.

Make no mistake, team. Abortion IS on the ballot in this year’s election. We need to ensure that Democrats maintain control of Congress so national Republicans can’t make this bill a reality. I have always stood on the side of reproductive freedom. From testifying for the ROE Act here in Massachusetts, co-sponsoring legislation to repeal the Hyde Amendment, voting for the Women's Health Protection Act in Congress, and so much more, I have made it a top priority of mine to be at the forefront in the fight to defend abortion rights.
