Lindsay Graham and Senate Republicans just introduced a bill that would ban abortion nationwide.
If it wasn’t clear before, it’s absolutely clear now: Abortion rights are on the ballot this November.
Let me be clear: no matter what, I will continue to fight in the U.S. Senate to protect and expand access to safe and legal abortion so no one is denied this essential health care in America.
The decision to get an abortion is an extremely personal choice, to be made solely between a patient and doctor, with the support of friends and family. It is NOT a decision to be dictated by the government.
But Since the overturning of Roe, tens of millions of Americans have lost their right to make decisions about their own bodies. And if Republicans gain power, they are going to pass a national abortion ban, just like many GOP-controlled states have already done.
It is absolutely CRITICAL that we continue our hard work to expand our majority this November, eliminate the filibuster, and codify the right to an abortion into federal law.
