VMMC in an evolving prevention landscape

A plenary presentation from the 20th International Conference on AIDS and STIs in Africa (ICASA 2019) examines the benefits of voluntary medical male circumcision (VMMC) for HIV prevention and lessons from VMMC programme experience. The slides also address impact: modelling studies estimate that the nearly 23 million VMMCs performed since 2008 have averted 250,000 new HIV infections. Among the recommendations are a call to use the entry point of VMMC services to help fill gaps in HIV prevention and improve the health of men and adolescent boys.
