Hi there,
Yesterday, surrounded by family and friends, I was sworn into Congress to represent my community.
It is the honor of my life to serve as a Member of Congress, and I would not have gotten here without your support.
When I took the oath of office yesterday, just as I did as a Cadet at West Point, I swore to support and defend our Constitution against all enemies, foreign and domestic. And believe me, I will do just that in Congress.
I will defend our rights and freedoms, especially those being threatened by right-wing politicians. I will defend our kids and families from the tragic surge of gun violence plaguing our communities. I will defend our democracy from insurrection and from those trying to dismantle our institutions.
When I won the special election last month, we sent a message from our community to the rest of the country: We want freedom for all, safety for all, and democracy for all. We’re going to keep sending that message through votes and legislation, and through our campaign for the general election.
I am ready to get to work as a representative in Congress, and I want to thank you for all your support of our campaign.
I am humbled and honored. Thank you.
Yours in service,
Congressman Pat Ryan
