Two hundred twenty Starbucks stores have unionized in the past year. However, CEO Howard Schultz refuses to acknowledge or negotiate with them, going so far as to fire organizers, intimidate workers, and bribe some not to unionize.
Starbucks posted a $4.1 billion profit in 2021.They wrote off their anti-union activities such as hiring anti-union consultants and anti-union advertising. All while employees received raises of less than $300 a year.
Companies that post huge profits and reward their CEOs with outlandish compensation should not be able to deduct their anti-employee, union busting activities!
Sign our petition: DEMAND that Congress pass the NO Tax Breaks for Union Busting Act. Union busting shouldn’t be a legitimate expense!
Union busting shouldn’t be legal, and it certainly shouldn’t be tax deductible!
Starbucks’ tax rate has been slashed despite its huge profits, and Howard Schultz saw his personal fortune grow by $1 billion during the pandemic. He makes 1600 times the average employee!
The No Tax Breaks for Union Busting Act would prevent corporations from writing off anti-union activities. Greedy corporations shouldn’t be able to exploit their workers and claim a tax benefit!
Add your name to stand with the people! Tell Congress that greedy corporations need to play nice or pay up. Pass the No Tax Breaks for Union Busting Act.
