John, these past months, I’ve been traveling across my state, meeting MIssourians from all walks of life and hearing their stories.
I’ve learned so much from their conversations about the challenges that families are facing. And something that rings true for almost every single Missourian I’ve met is that healthcare costs are just too plain high – and Washington isn’t doing nearly enough to fix the problem.
I am pleased to see that the Inflation Reduction Act addressed some of these concerns. Make no mistake, this deal is a meaningful step forward – but it's not nearly enough.
You see, we fell just three votes short of passing insulin copay caps for all Americans. As a nurse, I know just how difficult it is for families to afford this medication that they desperately need. More than 37 million Americans have diabetes – that's 1 person for every 10 of us.
It's unfair and immoral to force families to choose between paying for groceries and affording lifesaving insulin. The Senate must take action to right this wrong. That means electing more leaders who will fight for families, stand up to insurance companies, and make sure we all have access to the prescription medication we need.
I promise you that when I get to the Senate, I will vote to cap insulin costs, and I will not rest until we secure the other two votes that we need to get this legislation across the finish line.
So please, if you're with me on this, will you make a grassroots donation to power my campaign, send a nurse to the U.S. Senate, and flip this seat blue? I can't win this race and defeat my far-right opponent without your support.

I'm so grateful for your support,
Trudy
