Food & Water Watch and Food & Water Action
John,
Did you know that 30% of all donations to non-profit organizations are made in the month of December?
That means it’s absolutely critical for organizations like Food & Water Watch to hit our year-end fundraising goals so we’re ready to start the new year fighting for the climate goals we all care about.
With Donald Trump seeking to keep his grasp on power and just a few years left to stop climate catastrophe, 2020 will be a pivotal year for our environment.
That’s why we’re grateful to announce that one of our most generous donors has agreed to MATCH every donation between now and the end of the year until we meet our year-end goal of $500,000.
When Donald Trump took the presidency in 2016, some people thought there would be no chance to make any progress when it came to the fight for our environment in communities across the country.
Not Food & Water Watch.
Instead of giving up, we stayed focused. We’ve won fights that no one else thought were winnable, through targeted lawsuits and relentless work at the state, local and even campus levels to keep pushing for change. Our strategy has worked:
In 2019, we banned fracking in Washington State. We banned fracking waste in Connecticut, passed a fracking moratorium in Oregon and won a drilling moratorium in Ventura, California.
We stopped polluting pipelines like the Williams pipeline in New York and New Jersey. We stopped a plan to update three dangerous gas-fired power plants in Los Angeles. And in Piscataway, New Jersey, we helped pass a ground-breaking 100 percent clean energy program.
But in 2020, even more is at stake. That’s why we’ve set an ambitious goal of raising $500,000 by the end of the year to fight Trump and his deadly agenda.
John, we don’t take money from corporations. We rely on small donations from people like you. Your donations are what help us win the unwinnable fights. And because of you we can take on corporate polluters and Big Oil & Gas, and fight for a more livable future.
Thank you for your support and generosity. Fight like you live here!
Onward together,
