Processing all of this, I bet you and I are feeling some of the same emotions today. I’ve been getting flooded with a gruesome mixture of nausea and full intense rage ever since I read the news ...
But we must turn these feelings into action.
Because make no mistake—what happened today isn’t going to be the end of this. My opponent, Texas Republican Dan Crenshaw, has already co-sponsored H.R. 705: the Heartbeat Protection Act of 2021 (aka the federal Heartbeat Bill) in the House.
What we are seeing now from Dan and from Lindsey Graham is merely the next step in a coordinated effort by Congressional Republicans to take our rights away.
We have two options: either we band together now and defeat Republicans in both the House and the Senate this November or we wake up next January to an America none of us wants to imagine.
