Today, Republican Lindsey Graham introduced an extreme bill that would ban abortion nationwide after the right-wing Supreme Court majority overturned Roe v. Wade in June.
Let’s be honest — Republicans don’t have the votes to pass this extreme bill. Democrats have the majority, and the GOP’s position is deeply unpopular.
But clearly, the status quo isn’t working, john. We need to not only protect our 50-50 majority from Lindsey Graham and Mitch McConnell — we need to elect more Democrats to the Senate this fall so we can abolish the filibuster, expand the Supreme Court, and restore Roe v. Wade once and for all.
Abortion rights are central to a woman’s life, her dignity, and decisions about abortion are ones she must make herself. The Republicans’ bill to ban abortion nationwide isn’t about the “right to life,” this is about the government controlling women’s health care decisions — and it’s a signal of what they’ll do if they win back the Senate majority.
