No sooner did the U.S. Senate come back into session that Majority Leader Chuck Schumer announced they will vote on the “Disclose” Act as early as next week. This is a bill Campaign for Liberty has been warning you about for several years.
In Campaign for Liberty’s earliest years, we fought tooth and nail to keep the “Disclose” Act from passing – ultimately seeing it fail in the U.S. Senate by just ONE vote!
It was a great victory, but the statists in Washington will never give up on their efforts to silence their opposition.
Passage of the “Disclose” Act would force organizations like Campaign for Liberty to publicize information on our supporters.
This would have an incredibly chilling effect on political speech.
And now that the Biden Justice Department is fully weaponized against its political opponents, it’s never been more dangerous to speak truth to power.
We are going to continue to monitor this situation and be sure to report to you when action is needed.
Meanwhile, of course, there is much more on our radar, as the majority in Congress is absolutely desperate to pass as much liberty-destroying legislation as they can, while they still control all the Senate, the House, and the White House.
By our count, there are at least five major priorities the statists in Washington want to get done as quickly as possible:
• Joe Biden’s “assault weapons ban” that would outlaw the most popular rifles in America;
• A “continuing resolution” budget bill to fund the government, but filled with all kinds of Green New Deal goodies and other waste rolled into it;
• A “Central Bank Digital Currency” (CBDC), which Joe Biden ordered the Federal Reserve to hurry to development;
• More expansions of the federal police state. Already, they’ve funded 87,000 new IRS agents and put Obama-era radicals back in charge at the IRS. Now they want to pass Patriot Act 2.0 to expand their surveillance of everything you do;
• The National Defense Authorization Act, which is always a vehicle for statist policies that have nothing to do with national defense. Previous NDAAs have included everything from surveillance and indefinite detention of Americans to abortion policies.
