Earlier today, Lindsey Graham introduced legislation to ban abortion nationally.

He said if Republicans take power in November, it’ll get a vote.

We’re taking a different path in California.

Not only are we going to pass a constitutional amendment in California to protect a woman’s right to access an abortion, but today our state launched a new website to provide resources for women to get reproductive care — no matter where they live.

The site includes information on your right to abortion in California, and it includes information if you’re traveling to California from another state that has restricted access to an abortion.

The truth is, what Lindsey Graham and Republicans are doing is about controlling women, it’s not about “protecting life.”

It is honestly the height of perversity for national Republicans to call themselves “pro-life.”

These are people who largely oppose funding for prenatal care.

They are people who largely oppose paid family leave.

These are people who voted to take away health care under the Affordable Care Act.

And don’t even get me started on their response to the pandemic.

Give me a break.
