Dear Friends,
My name’s Caroline Menjivar, and I’m thrilled that Project ID Action Fund has endorsed my
campaign for California State Senate, District 20.
As the daughter of immigrants, a Marine Corps Veteran, and a social worker, I know how
integral having an ID is to accessing basic resources and how equally challenging it can be to
get one. That’s not right, especially for those going through a tough time. As a State
Senator, I will focus on holistically confronting homelessness and improving access to
affordable housing for those who need it. Accordingly, I look forward to working on ID policy with
Project IDAF when I’m a State Senator so we can unlock more doors for vulnerable and
underserved populations in our state.
Having grown up in the San Fernando Valley, I have firsthand knowledge of the economic and
educational inequities that have affected my neighbors' everyday lives. Having worked with city
and local government entities, I also know that this is a problem that can be solved. Currently I
am a Director at a local non-profit where I lead teams who directly assist individuals with
obtaining an ID. This time is so crucial in connecting people with life saving resources and that’s
part of why I’m running for office.
With Election Day less than two months away, I would be honored to have your support.
