ALTON - The Maine Department of Transportation is doing paving work on Route 16 in Alton. The project area begins approximately one-third of a mile south of Hatch Road and extends south for nearly two miles. Work began today and is scheduled to be finished by October 15th. Drivers may encounter a single-lane, alternating traffic pattern. The contractor on this work is Northeast Paving.
