This news just broke. I’m pissed off and fired up.
Like clockwork, the Republican Party has said they’re moving forward with what they’ve planned all along – a sweeping abortion ban to strip reproductive rights away from women.
When the leak came out about Roe v. Wade being overturned, the GOP downplayed the severity of its overturning and avoided questions on whether they’d act to protect our rights. They lied.
After Roe was overturned by the Supreme Court in a historically partisan decision, Republicans in Congress spent months talking about how they’d like to leave it up to the states to decide. They lied again.
Now, the Republican Party is giving us notice of what their official platform on this matter is: a national ban on reproductive rights.
The upcoming midterm elections will determine whether or not legislation like this passes. In a Republican Congress, it is all but guaranteed.
In my race, my opponent April Becker has been endorsed by some of the most extreme anti-choice groups across the country. These groups are in favor of a national abortion ban, no exceptions. We cannot let her step one foot in the halls of Congress.
The only way we can stop the GOP’s radical ban on abortion rights is by saving our Democratic majorities in Congress. My race will likely determine control of the House so, I need your help ensuring that we win this November.
